Thinking about buying an upright piano in Vancouver but do not want to ask what exactly a grand piano is?

You think that the sound of the upright piano sounds better than the digital piano. You are thinking about purchasing an upright piano for your child.

Based on my experience as a piano teacher for over 20 years, I have noticed that those families, who purchase an upright piano instead of a digital piano, are more serious about learning to play the piano and are likely to continue taking piano lessons.

Since you have to pay more to purchase an upright piano than a digital piano, this fact makes sense.

How Does an Upright Piano Work? (Animation)

How does an upright piano work?

The following YouTube video was created by XperimentalBroadcast. It is a 3D animation of an upright piano mechanism. The piano action is based on a Yamaha B2 upright piano.

What I liked about this YouTube video is that all the upright piano parts are clearly labelled.

I also watched the next YouTube video with interest because, with this animation, you can get closer view of each part of the upright piano. The YouTube video was created by dacasman and is a demonstration he made on a program called Algodoo to show how an upright piano works.

After I watched the two animations, I found it so much easier to watch the actual demonstrations by real piano technicians.
