Yuki was a piano instructor at the West Vancouver Community Centre in West Vancouver for 10 years. She was also a piano instructor at the Coal Harbour Community Centre in downtown Vancouver for 6 years. Now she teaches privately at her own piano studio in West Vancouver.

When Yuki was teaching at the West Vancouver Community Centre, she taught students ages 5 and above. However, she noticed that some parents were enrolling their four-year-olds for her to teach. In order to teach four-year-olds and three-year-olds efficiently and help them develop socially, physically, intellectually, creatively and emotionally, Yuki took Early Childhood Education course as she continued to teach piano. Eventually, she received a certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from Lethbridge College in Alberta and became a Licenced Early Childhood Educator in British Columbia.

After she received her ECE, Yuki continued to teach piano but also worked as a preschool teacher in order to gain more experience teaching young children in group settings.

Yuki has extensively explored what would serve as a link between preschool’s group music classes and formal piano lessons by studying and receiving teacher’s certificates of Kelly Kirby Piano Method, Orff (from UBC), Music for Young Children (MYC) and Music Together, and she has come up with her own eclectic method of piano teaching.
